This is the first castle we went to see here in Germany yesterday in the little village called Cochem. It is a very steep climb up to the castle, but a beautiful view can be seen from the base of the hill. The castle was built in 1027 as an imperial residence, and then rebuilt in the 1800's. The walk up is a very neat walk for it takes you threw a little German village and there are shops on each side of the street. Here are some pictures of the castle and some pictures looking down on the village from the castle. Enjoy!
We took this from the bridge across town.
On the walk up to the castle.
Another one on the walk up to the castle.
Right as we got up to the castle.
I thought this was a neat painting on the castle.
In the court yard of the castle.
Another one in the court yard.
I took this one from the road (not the best picture).
Looking down on the village from the castle.
Another one looking down on the river and the village.
One more looking down in the other direction.
